ARC Angel Welcome Baskets

1 Large Laundry Basket (plastic) ~ filled with the following:

Kitchen cleaning products

• containers of Comet, 1 bottle of Dish Soap
• 4 to 8 Sponges, 2 Dish Towels
• 2 rolls Paper Towels, Dust pan & brush

Bathroom supplies

• 1 Bottle Tile-x
• 2 bars of Soap
• 2 tooth brushes & 1 tube toothpaste
• Band-aids & 1 tube of Neosporin

Laundry supplies

• 1 bottle Bleach
• 1 bottle Arm & Hammer liquid detergent (100 fluid oz.,
  "free of perfume/dye")

Optional:  a plastic bottle of hand cream, or 1 other non-perishable
"goodie"

FYI!

Recipients of Welcome Baskets are generally people who are:

1) homeless and moving into a low-income rental,

2) relocating due to an increase in rent at their current home, which they cannot afford.

The purpose of the Welcome Basket is to "welcome" the individual or family to their new home. It is a small act of grace from people or congregations to people in need. Securing an apartment requires a Security Deposit (often 2 or 3 months rent) which generally leaves the individual/family little or no expend- able income. A Welcome Basket helps people take care of, and pride in, their home environment.
